Player ratings stagnate as Blues at Portman Road

Chelsea’s winless run was extended to three games on Monday as they fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

A controversial penalty gave Ipswich the chance to take an early lead. Philipp Jorgensen was adjudged to have tripped Liam Delap, who dusted himself off from the spot to give the hosts an advantage to defend.

Former Chelsea youth player Omari Hutchinson added a second for Ipswich ten minutes into the second half, allowing Ipswich to focus on frustrating their expensive visitors for the rest of the game.

With two straight defeats, Chelsea drop to fourth in the Premier League standings, with Arsenal able to extend their advantage to four points when they face Brentford on Wednesday. League leaders Liverpool, who have also played a game less, are ten points ahead of the Blues.
