Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro condemned comments by Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner comparing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to Nazis and urged calm during interviews.special report“Thursday.
“This is a small group of wannabe Nazis in a country of 350 million people, that’s what they are. We outnumber them,” Krasner said Tuesday. “If we have to hunt you down the way we hunted down Nazis for decades, we’re going to identify you, we’re going to find you, and we’re going to get justice.”
Shapiro condemned Krasner’s comments Thursday.
“This kind of rhetoric is unacceptable, it’s abhorrent and it’s wrong — period, stop it, end of sentence,” the governor told reporters. fox news Chief political anchor Bret Baier.

Shapiro called for “calm” when it came to anti-Semitism and broader unrest, including in Minnesota related to the Trump administration’s immigration policies.
“We need to tone down the rhetoric, tone down the tone and calm the community,” he said. “I believe the president’s policies have brought chaos to the streets of Minnesota.”
Shapiro’s comments follow recent criticism of his JD Vance, Vice Presidentaccusing him of keeping silent on anti-Semitism for his own political gain.
“What I pointed out is Anti-Semitism is a problemI want to see the vice president of the United States do better,” Shapiro said.

Shapiro said he stood by the charges against Vance while accusing leaders of both parties of having long failed to confront anti-Semitism.
“I think leaders need to speak and act with moral clarity and need to speak out about (anti-Semitism),” he explained. “I’m just speaking out to people on the political left. I’d like to see the vice president of the United States do the same.”
“I think this is an issue for both sides of the political aisle. I’m not going to point fingers at one side or the other,” he added.
Pennsylvania’s governor specifically accused Vance of providing “comfort” to Republicans with anti-Semitic views, saying his actions made the United States “less safe.”

“He should not allow Nick Fuentes, Tucker Carlson or others who promote anti-Semitic views to stand,” Shapiro argued.
“He is seeking some short-term political gain by not criticizing them,” he added.
Shapiro recently described Vance as a “sycophant” who “embarrasses himself every day” and added more criticism of the Trump administration during his “Special Report” appearance.
“I believe we are a party that defends people’s rights and freedoms when the government in Washington is eroding them,” the governor said.

A spokesman for Vance told NBC News on Wednesday that the Pennsylvania governor’s comments were “further disingenuous bias by Shapiro and a misleading plea for the attention of a political heavyweight.”
