Novak Djokovic’s wife Jelena recently shared a touching message to him just hours before the Serbian reached his historic 11th Australian Open final. Jelena Djokovic had sweet words of support for the 38-year-old as he prepared to face Carlos Alcaraz in Melbourne.
On Friday, January 30, Djokovic accomplished what everyone thought was impossible when he defeated world No. 2 and two-time defending champion Jannik Sinner at the Australian Open. The victory marked the 24-time Grand Slam champion’s first victory over the Italian in six matches. The former world number one will now face top seed Carlos Alcaraz as he looks to add another record to his collection and extend his 25th Grand Slam title. Jelena Djokovic expressed her love to him with sweet words as he prepared for the match, writing on Instagram:

“This man… was so much more than that. He brought me love, passion, joy, and the overwhelming feeling of sharing a life with someone who never stopped pushing the envelope. I’ll probably lose sleep tonight. Tomorrow, he’ll be in another final. Idemoooooo. Australian Open 2026.”

In 2025, Djokovic called his wife his “rock” during an appearance on the Jay Shetty Podcast, saying
“She’s basically the only serious relationship I’ve ever had. She’s my rock. She’s seen the worst and the best in me. She’s seen me grow. She’s challenged me on every level. We grew together, we have two beautiful kids, and we’re still growing and evolving.”
He went on to call her an incredible partner, adding,
“She’s been an incredible partner throughout this entire journey, professionally, personally, emotionally, romantically, and as a parent. So I’m still able to maintain that level, also because of her support of our family back home. I remind myself of that all the time.”
On the tennis front, Novak Djokovic is scheduled to return to action on Sunday, February 1 at 3:30 a.m. ET at Rod Laver Arena for the Australian Open final against Carlos Alcaraz. The Serbian leads the Spaniard 5-4 in the head-to-head record and it remains to be seen whether he can beat the world No. 1 to claim a 25th Grand Slam title.
