Although he has often played a deeper role, the four-time Belgium international has regularly shown his ability in the final third this season, contributing five goals and seven assists in 37 appearances for Celtic, while also impressing in the Champions League in the past.
Engels is still young and has plenty of time to develop further, but his performances in Scotland this season suggest he is ready for a move to Nottingham Forest, with a transfer fee of £30 million seeming reasonable.
