Alyssa Healy’s husband Mitchell Starc, a star pacer for the Australian men’s cricket team, was in the commentary box when Healy completed his century. Starc’s reaction instantly went viral among cricket fans across the globe.

The third of the three matches between Australia and India was special as it was Healy’s last ODI before her retirement.

Australia walked into Hobart’s Ninja Stadium as winners of the bilateral match with a 2-0 lead. Clearly, on paper, this game is more than just a game. But the iconic Australian batsman marked a historic moment in Australian cricket and women’s cricket around the world.

The wicketkeeper-batsman bowled a total of 79 runs with the white ball, including 18 fours. It was the eighth ODI hundreds against India for the 35-year-old. When she reached the hundred milestone, the batsmen changed direction.

Healy also scored 150 runs before dismissing Sneh Rana. She scored 158 runs in 98 deliveries, her second-highest score in the tournament. The knock of 158 overs was adorned with a staggering number of 27 fours and a few sixes. She just passed the test and her total score today was 120 points.

However, the iconic knock on the door ended in a strange way. A high toss shot from Sneh Rana in the middle of the stumps was successful. The referee had to check the height of the ball but everything was fine and Alyssa Healy returned to the pavilion. Healy shuffled across the crease for a reverse shot, but somehow he failed to hit it and ended up bowling out.

From 2010 to 2026, Healy played 126 women’s ODI matches, scoring 3777 runs at a strike rate of 37.02, powered by 8 centuries. Her highest personal score is 170 against the England Women’s Cricket Team in Christchurch on 3 April 2022.

On the brink of the final stretch of her ODI career, the batsman smashed hundreds in succession against India Women and Bangladesh Women in Visakhapatnam last year. The legendary cricketer has also smashed a half-century record in the ongoing three-match ODI series.

With Alyssa Healy’s 158 and Beth Mooney’s unbeaten 106 knocking, the Australian women’s team reached the top of the run-scoring pile, scoring 409 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs. Georgia Wall also came in handy with 62-for-52 shooting.

To win the match, the Indian women’s football team must score 410 points within the 50-over limit, which is a very tough challenge. Rana and Narapudi Charani scored twice each for India.
