No Apple TV Plus? No Worries: You Can Stream It For Free This Weekend

For anyone who hasn’t seen Apple’s original series like Ted Lasso, Shrink, Cut and The Morning Show, you might want to rethink your weekend plans.

The company announced on Monday that it is offering free streaming of its original series and films on Apple TV Plus on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 4 and Jan. 5, with no subscription required. In a post shared on the X social media site, the Apple TV Plus account said: “This weekend, see for yourself.”

It’s possible that Apple’s “weekend” could start early. A blind press release from Apple on Monday gives the dates as Jan. 3-5 (although the accompanying video says Jan. 4-5). So it looks like the free shows might start at some point on Friday, maybe later in the day.

That follows a series of previous posts urging people to “save the date” and “stay tuned” in reference to the same dates.

Although Apple has never offered a full weekend of open access to Apple TV Plus before, it has occasionally offered free streaming of select content, such as the first episodes of some originals. that series.

The company is also promoting a seven-day free trial for new subscribers, as well as extended trials with the purchase of select hardware products. Subscriptions start at $10 a month.

Apple may tease promotions ahead of new displays, too. It revealed the 2024 lineup in early February.
