The Seahawks put on an impressive defensive performance in this game Super Bowl LX wins 29-13 win over the New England Patriots. McDonald celebrated with his team on the field at Levi’s Stadium and was asked by NBC’s Maria Taylor what the win meant to him.

“I believed God called me to be a coach and I listened to Him and I thought of Him,” McDonald said. “We’re very fortunate to be the Seahawks, to be a 12-man team. Now, we’re world champions.”
McDonald somehow designed defense to stop Patriots quarterback Derek Meyer All night long. He made one or two clutch shots, but it wasn’t nearly enough as Seattle made him uncomfortable the entire night.

The Seahawks defense sacked Meyer six times on the night. He threw two interceptions and lost a fumble. Seattle’s Uchenna Nwosu returned one of the interceptions for a touchdown, dashing New England’s hopes of a comeback.
Seattle’s defense is a major sticking point throughout the 2025 season. The team ranks first in points allowed and sixth in yards allowed. The team achieved a record of 14 wins and 3 losses in the regular season, won the NFC West Championship, and won the Super Bowl for the first time since the 2013 season.
