You probably haven’t heard of Nex Playgroundbut it’s a small gaming system built around Kinect-like games. With its camera and computer vision processing, the $249 Nex Playground can track up to four players as effectively as Microsoft’s old Xbox motion tracker, according to Engadget’s Devindra Hardawar.

Tesla will end production of its Model S and X EVs next quarter, CEO Elon Musk announced. This is less of a major shift for the company than it sounds: The newer Model 3 and Y now make up the majority of the company’s sales. Tesla has delivered more than 1.5 million Model 3 and Y vehicles but sold less than 450,000 Model S and X units. Musk added that Tesla’s long-term goal is to build 1 million Optimus robots in the current Model S and X production space.
It is still under the Snap umbrella.
Snap’s augmented reality glasses business will now be spun off into its own company called Specs Inc. It is still fully owned by Snap, however. The company is trying to find ways to raise outside money for its AR glasses to better compete with Meta, which has more money to spend on development. Earlier this week, Mark Zuckerberg said that his Reality Labs (eventually) stop losing a lot of money because it duplicates AI glasses and moves away from virtual reality. According to the Meta boss, sales of the company’s smart glasses will “more than triple” by 2025.
How Snap’s Specs Match Meta’s Strengths? Well, its next pair is apparently lighter, smaller and more capable than the older smartglass model, which is quite dev-focused. One request: don’t make them look terrible.
