Tomori struggles for game time
Milan may be willing to drop Tomori from their squad this January as he has fallen significantly down the pecking order at the San Siro, failing to start One Serie A match since early October.
Nonetheless, the 27-year-old has impressed the Italian club in the past, earning high praise from former Milan executive Ivan Gazidis back in 2022. explain:
“Fikayo has been outstanding this season. He is definitely one of the pillars of this team and he is one of the players we want to build the team around. He has tremendous dedication on and off the pitch.”
Newcastle’s new transfer policy stipulates that players with Premier League experience are preferred, and the Canadian-born defender fit the bill during his time at Chelsea, although he never succeeded in cementing himself as a key long-term player.
Although Tomori has fallen out of favor at Milan recently, his previous performances suggest he could be a reliable signing for Newcastle, with the added bonus that he can be acquired for a relatively low fee of £21m.
