new york city Police are searching for a suspect they say stabbed a Jewish man in the chest on Tuesday while making “anti-Semitic” comments.
Police release pictures and a brief video of the suspect, whose identity remains unknown. Authorities said the victim, a 35-year-old man, got into an argument with the suspect after a chance encounter on the street. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening and he is currently being treated at a nearby hospital.
“At approximately 4:10 p.m., a 35-year-old male victim was walking near Kingston Avenue and Lincoln Square within the boundaries of the 77th Precinct when he was approached by an unknown individual. The unknown individual made anti-Semitic remarks and then stabbed the victim in the chest,” police told Fox News Digital in a statement.
They added: “The individual was last seen fleeing the location on foot towards Sterling Square and Albany Avenue.”

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident, police said.
Video of the incident circulating on social media showed two men confronting each other in an argument that lasted several minutes. After their confrontation initially ended, the potential victim followed the suspect, at which point the suspect turned around and stabbed the victim.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams condemned the stabbing in a statement.
“Evil, hateful, anti-semitic violence It must end. We cannot allow this kind of hatred to continue in our city and we will never back down. Our prayers go out to this man and his family as the NYPD Hate Crimes Unit is investigating the incident. “
