New York Attorney General Letitia James launched a similar portal in her state in October, saying state officials would review videos and images uploaded to the portal to determine whether immigration agents broke the law. California officials also launched a portal last month for residents to report possible illegal conduct by ICE agents.
A number of grassroots organizations across the country have also been warning community members about reports of ICE activity so immigrants can avoid the area.
Prior to this, federal immigration agents had killed American citizens twice in the United States. minneapolis this month. Both shootings were recorded by bystanders and sparked riots in Minnesota and across the country.
Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed by ICE agent Jonathan Ross on January 7 in Minneapolis, and on Saturday, Border Patrol agents shot and killed Alex Pretti while he was documenting an immigration enforcement operation in the same city.
Intensive care unit nurse Preeti appeared to be trying to help a knocked out female agent, but he was sprayed with an irritant, pushed to the ground and beaten, according to video and eyewitness accounts. One agent was later seen pulling Preti’s legally owned firearm from his waistband before other agents fired several shots, killing him.

Sherrill also compared ICE to the secret police forces she observed in other countries while serving in the Navy.
“We see people on the streets wearing masks, not wearing any badges. So being completely irresponsible, avoiding crowds – we see over and over again the destruction of what law enforcement Measures should be taken to keep people safe,” she said on Wednesday.
Democrats in Congress and state legislatures have for months sought measures to ban immigration agents from wearing masks to hide their identities, arguing that such legislation is needed to ensure transparency.
