Former India captain and one of cricket’s biggest icons, MS Dhoni recently shared his thoughts on PR and social media, offering valuable advice to the younger generation. Known for keeping a low profile, Dhoni revealed that he has never felt the need to chase fame or a following.
In modern times, many cricketers are obsessed with building their social media presence, but the legendary wicketkeeper-batsman firmly believes that doing well in cricket is the best PR anyone can have.

He points out that on-site success speaks louder than any number of posts or followers. The former India captain revealed that he went through different coaches throughout his career and despite their constant PR push, he never paid attention to them as he always believed in the concept that his game should be enough to create a buzz among the fans .

MS Dhoni takes a dig at PR-obsessed players
MS Dhoni, the only one to win the ICC trophy as captain, stressed that if the players focus on the 22-yard job, everything else will fall into place. He feels the pressure to maintain a certain image on social media can be overwhelming, but it’s completely necessary.
He noted, “I don’t worry about who has how many followers or who is doing what because I know that if I take care of cricket, everything else will fall into place. If you are doing well then why do you need these great What’s the answer?”
The iconic cricketer also took a subtle dig at players who care more about their PR than their performance. He noted that social media can easily distract players, especially when they start caring too much about likes, comments and views.

He further explained: “I’m not saying it’s a bad thing; I’m just saying it’s a bad thing. People shouldn’t do it, but at the same time, if it’s not you, then don’t do it. Dhoni also stressed that social media may not be the right path for those affected by negative comments, advising the younger generation to stay true to themselves, focus on their craft and let the results speak for themselves, as in the end, true success No filtering is ever needed.
