In the 98th minute, goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin scored a shocking header. Benfica defeats Real Madrid 4-2 to secure their Champions League spot and give their illustrious rivals an automatic promotion to the last 16.
In an extraordinary final on Wednesday, Portugal headed out despite leading 3-2 with seconds left in stoppage time before Trubin stepped up to take a free-kick to advance to the play-offs on goal difference.

Benfica had two powerful early penalties blocked and Real Madrid took the lead in the 30th minute when Asensio’s cross at the back post was headed in by Mbappe.
The home side equalized six minutes later when Asensio slipped in the wet conditions and Pavlidis provided the perfect pass for Schjeldrup to head home.
Benfica were awarded a penalty in first-half stoppage time when Aureliano Tsouameni was adjudged to have dragged Nicolas Otamendi to the ground and Pavlidis saved his penalty.
Schjeldrup scored his second goal of the game off a perfect pass from Pavlidis to make it 3-1, before Mbappe added his second, his 36th in all competitions this season.
Benfica were still outside the top 24 when they almost won a free-kick on the final play of the game, with Frederik Osnes’ shot headed in by Trubin to complete a dramatic night in Lisbon.
