More than 100 deaths confirmed in floods across southern Africa

Hundreds of thousands of people across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique have been displaced after heavy rain brought some of the worst flooding the region has seen in decades. Forecasters expect more rain by February.

Where we are in the southern African region, when it rains, it is not the same kind of rain. It’s much sharper. It’s more difficult. And that’s what results in the extreme flooding we’re seeing right now.

Hundreds of thousands of people across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique have been displaced after heavy rain brought some of the worst flooding the region has seen in decades. Forecasters expect more rain by February.
