Mohammad Shami slaps Ajit Agarkar’s right-hand man with 31-ball Ranji Trophy fifty after India snub

Veteran Indian pacer Mohammad Shami has been desperately trying to make a comeback for Team India in any format of the game. Despite his stellar performances in all three formats of domestic cricket, he continued to be overlooked by BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar. This time, however, he has added a new attribute to his resume.

Mohammad Shami has not represented India in any of the three international tournaments since the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Despite not being part of the T20Is, Shami is often considered for Test and ODI matches by Indian fans and cricket fanatics. However, selectors cited various reasons, including injuries, poor form, lack of regular games, etc., for his continued neglect.

Shami also performed well in the Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy. Ever since RP Singh was appointed as a member of the BCCI selection committee, he has witnessed many of Shami’s classics.

Shami, batting at No. 10, scored a half-century off 31 balls to help Bangladesh post a score of 629 and was part of a successful partnership with Mukesh Kumar.
