Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted the Gunners could be forced to turn around transfer Bazar after both Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling were injured.
Saka limped off with a hamstring problem during the recent win over Crystal Palace which Arteta predicted would be “several weeks“, before back-up Raheem Sterling dropped out of training with a knee problem.
It leaves Armory They are heading into a spirited festive period without any natural right wingers, and Arteta admits new signings may be needed.
“If something incredible is available and if the club is willing to do it, we have to consider it,” Arteta said. “Preparations have been made and we are ready if something happens.
“We didn’t predict the situation with Bukayo and Raheem at the same time. We predicted more that it would be something else: for example, the defensive line. We started the season with one of the thinnest teams in the Premier League – we knew it. .”
Arteta, however, insisted that Arsenal’s squad is full of players who have experience filling in on the right side of the attack.
“(Gabriel Martinelli), it’s the first one we’ve gone through, especially because he’s played there before,” Arteta explained. “He played the last game there against Everton and the last game of the season. He did really well. He did really well the other day, he scored a goal and made an assist and he’s a good option.
“Gaby (Jesus) has played there. Ethan (Navaneri) has played there, Leo (Trossard) can play there depending on how that unit runs. Kai (Havertz) can play there, asking him different things.
“We’ll see, try different things and ask how they feel about it.”
