Nuclear startup Antares said Tuesday it has raised $96 million in series B funding as it pursues its nuclear reactor design.
The round, led by SHARE Capital with participation from Alt Capital, Caffeinated, Filestythree Stations, Diligent, and others, has $7 million in debt.
Stay It is said to target commercial, defense, and space-based applications with the R1 Microreactor, which can produce between 100 kilowatts and 1 megawatt of electricity. The scheme uses Triso Fuel, which in the case of Anares are spheres of Carbon- and ceramic treated with Grafika.
The startup is one of several companies that have benefited recently from the renewed interest in nuclear power over the past six months.
Last week, Powered by Amazon X-Energy said it raised a $700 Million Series D Roundwhich comes on the heels of a $700 million series C round that closed in February. The company is also designing a reactor around Triso Fuel. Deep Vision, which has struggled to raise money as recently as April, publicly stated a $30 million review merger in September.
HAO AMOCHICS raised $100 million in August to the construction of a demonstration data center powered by a microreactor, and in June, NVIDIA contributed to a $ 650 million round For Terrapower, a small modular reactor startup is also backed by Bill Gates.

The project is expected to cost the Reactor reacted in 2019. In October, Google said that it will work with Nextera Energy in also open a nuclear power plant In Iowa damaged by a heavy rain in 2020.
Earlier this summer, Amazon purchased 1.92 gigawatts to generate capacity from a Tapen Energy nuclear plant in Pennsylvania. Meta also said in June Buy clean energy brands from a constellation nuclear power plant in Illinois.
And while big nuclear is a major beneficiary, the Trump administration has suffered little nuclear potential to survive the industry’s fortunes for the coming decade.
In August, Antares was named one of the 11 participants in the Department of Energy’s expert program, which aims to have at least operation by July 4, 2026, a timeline that is very aggressive in the nuclear industry.
Antares said it aims to demonstrate its reactor for the DOE next year, and plans to turn on full reactor power by 2027.
