Jeff Mayweather says he thinks Tyson Fury narrowly won their rematch against Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh on Saturday night. He thinks Fury (34 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss, 24 KOs) will do better than unified heavyweight champion Usyk (23 wins, 0 losses, 12 KOs) in this 12-round fight.

Jeff didn’t think it was an exciting fight and labeled it “mediocre.” Usyk won by unanimous decision with scores of 116-112, 116-112, 116-112 in 12 rounds. Fury gave up his chance to win by doing nothing in the title match while the fight was still up for grabs.

Weight and performance

Fury’s added weight slowed him down, making it difficult for him to put in as much effort as he could to win. He looked flabby at 262 pounds in the first fight, but moved up to 281 pounds in the rematch.

Fury was so stocky that he had to pull his pants up to minimize his midriff, leaving a smaller target area for Usyk’s punches.
