After making his IPL debut in 2024, he suffered a back injury and then a toe injury. These setbacks forced him to miss the domestic season and the start of IPL 2025 before the back problem resurfaced and ended his season prematurely.
The 23-year-old is now back to full bowling fitness after a layoff of almost a year. He will make his comeback with the India A team in the T20 World Cup warm-up match.
According to the report, “Fast bowler Mayank Yadav has also regained full bowling fitness after missing nearly a year due to a stress fracture in his lower back. The 23-year-old will make his comeback with the India A team during the T20 World Cup warm-up match.”

Mayank Yadav hogged the limelight with his rapid pace during IPL 2024. He regularly bowled at speeds in excess of 150 km/h and took seven wickets in four games. His performances earned him a call-up to the Indian senior team.
The fast bowler has played 3 T20Is for India so far and picked up 4 wickets. He made his international debut in the home series against Bangladesh.
Mayank participated in IPL 2025 with fitness issues but played only two games. He ended the season with two wickets at an average of 50 and an economy rate of 12.50 before injury sidelined him.
His last appearance was in IPL 2025 in Dharamshala against Kings XI Punjab. Despite ongoing health issues, Lucknow Supergiants showed confidence in his potential and retained him for the IPL 2026 season for Rs 11 crore.
