It may only be Wednesday, but it’s already another classic week in one’s life. Manchester United fan.
Ahead of Monday’s 4-4 draw with Bournemouth, Ruben Amorim Targeting the club’s two youth players, Harry Armas and Chido Obi.
Why he did it is anyone’s guess, but it’s certainly not the way to get players and supporters on side. Now there’s never a dull moment at Old Trafford, is there?
The 4-4 draw was just stupid. On a positive note, United’s forward line looks as good as it has in years. Defense, however, is another story. What a mess.
Maybe signing a midfielder or two in January could help things along.
Manchester United target numerous Premier League midfielders
Reports in recent months indicate that INEOS’ two key objectives for 2026 are Adam Walton and Elliot Anderson.
However, United may have to pay extra for its service and is pursuing alternatives.
One of those replacements is said to be Bournemouth’s Tyler Adams, It is reported. Adams was named to the starting lineup by Andoni Illaura on Monday night, but his audition lasted only a few minutes before he limped off with an injury.
His replacement that night was 22-year-old Alex Scott, who is said to be the latest target United are targeting.
That’s through Samuel Luckhurst for The Sun It was reported earlier this week that Old Trafford Chiefs were considering a move for Scott.
The report states that Manchester United are “monitoring” the player and may consider bringing him in if Kobe Minu Leave the club. Hopefully the Red Devils will only lose Mainu on a loan deal for now.
Why Scott could be Manchester United’s other Mainu
Of course, all the talk in recent months has been about Anderson and Wharton. Old Trafford will be delighted if Amorim and his team can bring one of England’s top midfielders to the club.
Scott isn’t a bad choice, though. Thomas Tuchel’s recent call-up to the England squad for the November international break speaks volumes about his progress and potential. He does have a chance to play in next summer’s World Cup.
Why? The young midfielder has been making waves since his time in the Championship with Bristol City. In the 2022/23 season, he was awarded the Young Player of the Year award in the second tier.
A move to Bournemouth followed and he quickly became one of the most promising young players in the Premier League. as Como scout Ben Martinson sayshe makes the steps between departments “seamless.”
Although he only scored 3 goals and provided 4 assists at the Vitality Stadium, he is a player who exudes elegance and brings a lot of calm to the center of the pitch.
A Manchester United media figure dubbed “Guernsey Grealish” by some said ahead of Monday’s game against Bournemouth that he ‘Looks like Prime Minister (Roy) Keane’.
When he struggled at Old Trafford he was particularly strong in duels and was always on top trying to push forward. United could certainly benefit from this, especially if he were to replace the visionary Mainu.

A well-rounded midfielder, Scott ranks highly in some important metrics, particularly in passing.
According to FBRef, his goals per 90 (2.01) puts him in the top 14% of Premier League midfielders, while he also ranks in the top 9% for successful receptions (1.01). He is also particularly good at drawing fouls, ranking in the top 11% of similarly positioned players in the top leagues for that metric.
Scott is also more than happy to do the dirty work, making 1.34 interceptions per 90 minutes, a figure that puts him in the best 14% of midfielders.
So, he has similarities with Mainoo. They both possess dynamic skill sets and although they don’t score many goals, their impact on progress and game-breaking makes them valuable players.
