Manchester City go 3-0 up, heap more Etihad misery on Fulham


Manchester City The pressure was set to pile on Armory Antoine Semenyo continued his excellent form against Fulham in the Premier League title race with an impressive first-half performance against the Cottagers.

City went into Wednesday’s clash knowing they could Cut the gap to leaders Arsenal to three points Ahead of the Gunners’ trip to Brentford on Thursday.

The hosts had previously won their last 19 meetings with Fulham in all competitions, the longest run by one side against the other in English football history.

And that record looked set to be extended to 20 thanks to Semenyo’s brilliance.

Manchester City take control

The Ghana international made it five goals against Fulham in his Premier League career with Bournemouth, and he broke the deadlock with his sixth as he headed home the opener in the 24th minute.

Semenyo then gave Fulham a mountain to climb as he made it 2-0 at the end of City’s free-flowing effort, Nico O’Reilly doubling the lead with a superb lofted finish over Bernd Leno.

Erling Haaland then put the game beyond doubt with an incredible finish into the bottom-right corner, his eighth goal in as many Premier League games against the west Londoners.
