Co-owner Jim Ratcliffe says Manchester United Manager Reuben Amorim will be given full three years of his contract, says co-owner Jim Ratcliffe.
After arriving last year, Amorim has won only 10 of his 34 Premier League match and it has been under pressure to refuse to change the system.
United is ranked 15th in the Premier League last season and 10th in the season after seven matches.
But Ratcliffe says the club needs to be patient and return to the Portuguese manager.
“I remember Alex Ferguson will be fired in his first two years,” Ratcliffe said in Times’ podcast the business. “You see Arsenal (Mikel) Arsenal. For the first years he had a miserable time.
“We are based at the end of the day, but we have to be patient and we have to look at the results. I think there are many good things in Manchester United. We have to be patient and we have a long -term plan. It’s not a light switch.
“Rubey needs to show that she is a great coach in three years.”
Ratcliffe also said he wanted to revive the club’s academy who once churned the choice of multiple title winner David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Skols and Gary Neville.
“The academy has actually slipped to Manchester United,” Ratcliffe said. “You don’t solve the academy problem overnight. It takes time. We have just recruited a new Academy Director.”
