A federal judge in Louisiana earlier this month released four illegal immigrants with lengthy criminal histories that included convictions for murder and child sex crimes.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security said that on February 6, Judge John deGravelles of the Middle District Court of Louisiana, an Obama appointee, allowed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to release four defendants.
“The consequences will only be that more American victims continue to be raped, murdered, assaulted and robbed,” said Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary of Homeland Security. “Releasing these monsters is inexcusable and reckless behavior. President Trump and Secretary Noem are now enforcing the law and arresting illegal aliens who have no right to enter our country.”

“We are enforcing the law as written,” she added. “If an immigration judge finds that illegal aliens have no right to be in this country, we will deport them. Period.”
The four defendants include Ibrahim Ali Mohamed, an Ethiopian citizen convicted of sexual exploitation of minors. On September 5, 2024, the immigration judge issued a final deportation order to him.

Luis Gaston-Sanchez, of Cuba, was convicted of homicide, assault, resisting police, concealing stolen property and two counts of robbery.
On September 24, 2001, an immigration judge issued a deportation order against him.
Ricardo Blanco Chomat, also a Cuban citizen, was convicted of homicide, kidnapping, aggravated assault with a firearm, burglary, robbery, theft and cocaine trafficking.
A deportation order was issued to him on March 27, 2002.
Francisco Rodriguez Romero had previously been convicted of homicide and weapons charges. On May 30, 1995, he was ordered deported.
