Webtoon’s popular romance webcomic Lore Olympus adapted into an animated series for Prime Video.

You may remember that an adaptation is communicated all the way back in 2019with vague Webtoon updates here and there. Per the Hollywood Reporterit has been given a full season order by the streamer. It will be developed by the Jim Henson Company and showrun by Julia Cooperman, who previously wrote for AMC’s Pantheon and CWs The Winchesters.

Created by Rachel Smythe, the comic retells the Greek mythology of Persephone and Hades in a mostly modern setting. Over the years, it has become one of the most read comics in the world, racked up awards per year, and received physical editions.

In a statement, Cooperman said that read Lore Olympus “reminds me of the enduring power of (Greek mythology), which resonates with so much of our modern-day storytelling. We can’t wait to share this exciting, soulful, and timely reimagining of the story of Persephone and Hades with new audiences and longtime readers.
