According to TechCrunchMeta will soon launch a wide range of new features that it plans to weld to Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook apps in different configurations.

But you have to pay them.

TechCrunch says that more ways to bundle premium features are in the works, and that bundled features will be available across three apps, with each bundle different from the others.

Following the launch of X’s paid verification program, Meta introduced Meta Verified, which allows users to pay $11.99-per-month for a verification badge and some extra security—so for influencers and celebrities, basically. This wave of supposedly premium features, in contrast, is aimed at improving (in theory) the experience of average users by adding things like productivity enhancements and video creation.

One or more subscriptions will reportedly include Manus, the maker of AI agents that Meta recently bought. If you need a refresher, at the time of the $2 billion deal to acquire Meta, Manus was based in Singapore, but it was originally founded in China. Meta has assured the world that no ties to China will remain once the transaction is completed.

Known app sleuth Alessandro Paluzzi Claims who discovered a Manus feature on Instagram that was already buried in code. That feature, if true, will prompt users to “research, create, and create with Manus.”

Another set of premium Paluzzi features claims to have discovered is a big deal more middle school-ish. This involves highlighting who is following users who are not following you, and allowing you to view stories without anyone knowing.
