Lloyds Banking Group has appointed Amanda Murphy as the incoming CEO of its commercial and business banking (BCB) division, supporting micro, small and medium-sized businesses.
Pending regulatory clearance, the appointment follows Elyn Corfield’s decision to step down in 2026, ending almost nine years with the group.
Murphy is scheduled to join in February 2026.
Most recently, he was based in Singapore, where he was co-head of commercial banking in Asia and head of commercial banking for South and Southeast Asia at HSBC.
Prior to these roles in Asia, he held various senior roles in HSBC’s UK BCB division from 2013 to 2021, including as Head of UK Commercial Banking from 2017 to 2021.
Lloyds Banking Group CEO Charlie Nunn said: “Elyn Corfield has had an extraordinary career both at MBNA and ultimately at Lloyds following its acquisition in 2017. In her most recent role as CEO of our BCB team, she has led the way in the comprehensive transformation of our business to better serve our small and medium-sized business clients.
“In addition to this, he has contributed passionately to some of the UK’s biggest business challenges in the areas of regional regeneration and diverse entrepreneurship, including through the Black in Business initiative and disabled founders work as part of the government’s Lilac Review.”
Corfield said: “Supporting this segment of the UK business community has been a real honour, but the time has come for me to step down to spend some family time. In Amanda, we have found an exceptional leader who will join a great team with exciting plans for the future.”
