Liverpool may need to find a new attacker soon as they struggle to get the best out of Darwin Nunez this season.
The Uruguayan forward has struggled under Arne Slaughter this season despite scoring against Southampton in the Carabao Cup.
The Dutch manager is able to get the best out of most of his players at Anfield, but Nunez has been a tough nut to crack.
The former Benfica striker has scored just once in his last 11 appearances for the club.
The Reds have been linked with a number of forwards to replace the club’s struggling Nunez. Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram is one of them.
Another attacker on the radar of the Premier League leaders is Brighton attacker Joao Pedro.
This season, Pedro has scored 4 goals and provided 3 assists in ten Premier League games.
Journalist Graeme Bailey told Wake up to popular science The Brighton star has entered Liverpool’s sights.
“Liverpool know everything about him, I heard they knew about him even before he went to Watford (in January 2020), so he is someone they are looking at.” the reporter said.
“As far as I know, Liverpool are not just looking at wingers. If they do decide to move on from Darwin Nunez then they will do their due diligence and keep their reports updated.”
“They are looking at these types of players to see who is next and Pedro is one of the best players in the Premier League at the moment. He is definitely one of the guys they are looking at.”
“The figure Brighton are talking about is £100m.”
Brighton striker Joao Pedro joins Liverpool?

The fee Brighton plan to ask for is outrageous, but the fact they know Liverpool may be desperate to sign Pedro works in their favour.
Nunez took a long time to prove himself under former manager Jurgen Klopp.
If he fails to turn his career around at the club this season, Slott should make the big decision to let the attacker leave the club and look for new options in the market.
Pedro is a man who likes to connect with his teammates and get others involved, much like how former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino used to play.
Nunez must save his Liverpool career between now and the end of the season.
Another player is Premier League leaders target Fulham left-back Anthony Robinson.
