Leeds United When it comes to what’s new in January, it seems like they’re going to jump right in.
It’s been a pretty low-key transfer window Daniel Wake So far, loanee Facundo Buonanotte is the only newcomer worth keeping an eye on Premier League But that could all soon change as Monday’s deadline looms for the West Yorkshire giants.
Leeds United hold talks with star player worth £25m
Leeds United hope to re-sign statement Jorgen Strand LarsonThe Norwegian’s expected move to Crystal Palace fell through at the last moment.
It would be a hugely exciting development as Farke bolsters his attacking arsenal ahead of a tricky battle with impending relegation, with Leeds also eyeing the summer when it comes to other statement signings moving to Yorkshire.
Leeds United hope they can retain their Premier League status once the dust settles on a chaotic 2025/26 season.
Survival would open the door to more cash for Leeds, away from the £39m expected to be spent on Strand Larsen’s services, Sports craze revealed White man has ex-renter Jayden Anthony in their long-term vision.
Indeed, the report states that the 26-year-old was the subject of some intense transfer speculation late in the window due to his role in Burnley’s own survival story.
His impressive performances at the foot of the Premier League have attracted interest from Everton, Fulham and Leeds United and a mid-season move looks unlikely to be sanctioned with the Clarets attaching a massive £25m price tag to their star player.
That hasn’t completely stopped the pursuers, though, who are said to have held preliminary talks with the Burnley No.11 to establish more realistic financial demands.
Why Anthony might be a better signing than Strand Larson
If Leeds ultimately win over Anthony, he could prove to be a better signing than Strand Larsson, despite the Scandinavian’s name attracting a lot of attention.
The initial announcement alone is likely to raise some eyebrows, with Strand-Larsen having previously scored 14 Premier League goals for Wolves considered worthy of his £50m valuation. In addition, Anthony also performed poorly in Leeds United’s previous record, scoring only two goals in the 2023/24 season, which ultimately led to Leeds United’s failure to advance.
But it’s a fairer view when you look at Anthony’s transformation this season, with his sumptuous equalizer against Manchester United earlier this month just one of the more memorable parts of the 26-year-old’s outstanding performances at Turf Moor.
The rejuvenated No. 11 has also played a key role for Scott Parker’s side at the start of the season, scoring a goal and assisting against newly promoted Sunderland as they secured their first league win of the season.
His continued commitment to the cause certainly supports Parker’s past comments that the 6-foot winger is “Excellent” How much does he have to offer, and his claret boss praises him as a “incredible” Characters around the locker room.
Instead, Strand Larson is often accused of “Do absolutely nothing” TalkSPORT’s Darren Bent replaces Rob Edwards at the bottom The old man has scored just once in 21 Premier League games this season, certainly leaving Leeds United questioning why they would be willing to spend £45m or more on his hot and cold services.

Farke is confident in his ability as a coach to once again get the best out of the expensive striker, but that doesn’t feel like a necessary gamble when you consider he already has nine-goal star Dominic Calvert-Lewin at his disposal.
However, for Anthony, he can play on either channel and be considered “valuable” It is for this reason that the German will be able to add more depth to his squad under his former Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, with Noah Okafor, Wilfried Genonto and Dan James his only recognized options on the flanks.
Anthony has even been dropped at No. 10 at times, and Leeds might be better suited to hold off on the signing of Strand Larsson and pursue the £25m-rated star instead so they can win a move that’s more beneficial to the squad as a whole.
