Kaitlyn Dever is ready for the Abby-Centric ‘Last of Us’ Season 3

When third season of The Last of Us coming to HBO sometime in 2027, it’s all about Abby. The second season saw a star, Joel (Pedro Pascal), murdered, and our other heroine, Ellie (Bella Ramsey), searching for her killer. Then that killer, Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), ends up hunting and finding Ellie. But before we see what happened between the two, the the show flashes back a few days and ended with Abby.

Same twist Last of us Creator Neil Druckmann teased fans with in The Last of Us Part II game. now, season three of the show focus on everything that is happening from a completely different point of view. “The fans really like it, I think,” Dever said The deadline. “The changing perspective to Abby, getting more context in her storyline and going back in time with this season. So, I’m really excited for the fans to see it.”

Dever told the outlet that his work on the third season will begin soon. “I’m preparing mentally and physically now. I’m going up in a few days, actually, to start preparing there,” he said this week. “I’m very happy to get a bigger role in the season.”

In the play, when Druckmann pulls the rug out from under you and lets you play as Abby, it is borderline torturous. You are living the person the story taught you to hate. But, over the course of the story, our sympathies and beliefs change, fueling the final showdown of the second season that has been teased.

But could a potential two-year break between seasons have that kind of effect? And how is the show going now Druckmann, who created the play and helped bring the show to life, moving away to focus on Naughty Dog video games like sci-fi games Intergalactic: The Heretical Prophet? We don’t know. We know the cameras will start rolling soon, though, and Dever will be ahead of them most of the time.
