A Georgia K9 deputy was struck by a car while chasing a man on Wednesday. bank robbery suspect But he stood up, continued the chase and helped deputies take him into custody.
Fox 5 Atlanta reports Deputies with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office were notified of a possible bank robbery at an area bank in Newnan, Georgia.
Authorities located the suspect’s vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to yield, sparking a pursuit.
The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed and fled the wrecked vehicle, officials said.

The driver lost control and the car became stuck between a light pole and a tree, according to local television.
The airbag deployed and the vehicle’s front end was severely damaged, including a blown wheel and damaged bumper.
A K9 handler then sent his partner, Robby, to track and apprehend the fleeing suspect.

During the chase, Robbie was hit by a car, but despite being hit, the K9 continued the pursuit and helped deputies make an arrest.
Robbie was taken to Sweetwater Veterinary Hospital, where staff determined he was suffering from pain minor abrasions But there were no internal injuries. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Fox 5 reported that authorities have not yet released the name of the man in custody or outlined the full range of charges he may face in connection with the reported bank robbery and subsequent manhunt.
The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News Digital, newnan police department is leading the investigation.
