Justin Baldoni’s former publicist is suing the actor and director over the escalating fallout over Blake Lively’s alleged harassment, Baldoni’s It ends with us teammate.

Lively previously filed a complaint with the California Department of Civil Rights, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment on set and launching a social media campaign to “destroy” her reputation — detailed in a series of text messages involving Baldoni, his current publicist, Jennifer Abel and PR Crisis Manager Melissa Nathan.

In a new lawsuit filed Tuesday in New York state court, Stephanie Jones, who owns PR firm Jonesworks, accuses Baldoni of breaching their contract when he left the company after Abel left Jonesworks to start his own firm.

Jones also claims that Abel and Nathan conducted an online smear campaign against Lively behind Jones’ back and without her knowledge. Jones is suing the two, along with Baldoni, for defamation, saying they tried to blame Jones for the alleged campaign after word got out.

‘You know we can bury anyone’

Documents filed in Lively’s filings show texts between Abel, Nathan, and sometimes Baldoni and others that appear to detail plans to smear Lively by spreading negative stories about her in the press and on social media.

“You know we can bury anybody,” reads one lyric attributed to Nathan.

In another message allegedly sent by Abel, the publicist claims she is having dinner with a friend who writes for several major American publications, and is “armed and ready to take this story of Blake’s weaponization of feminism” to any of her outlets. “She hates Blake, she’s heard this story before and she’ll do anything for us,” the message read.

Blake Lively has accused her Ending With Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni of trying to ‘destroy’ her reputation after she complained of sexual harassment during filming. Baldoni’s lawyer calls these claims ‘categorically false’.

Baldoni’s talent agency, WME, dropped him the day Lively’s complaint was filed.

Baldoni’s lawyers have denied the charges. Abel told the Hollywood Reporter that the text messages in the submission were screened and that there was no defamatory campaign.

“These allegations are completely false, outrageous and intentionally misrepresented with the intent to publicly injure and repeat the story in the media,” attorney Bryan Freedman, who represents Baldoni, his production company and its representatives, said in a statement.

Lively’s complaint alleges that a meeting – attended by her husband, Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds and others – was held during filming to discuss Baldoni’s behaviour. According to the complaint, Lively demanded an end to Baldoni’s “showing nude videos or images of women,” as well as discussing Baldoni’s alleged past of “pornography addiction” or “sexual conquests.”

Other topics discussed at the meeting included preventing Baldoni from further mentioning genitalia, inquiries about Lively’s weight or “Mr. Baldoni’s mention of ‘talking’ to (Lively’s) dead father.”

Lively came under fire for promoting the film

It ends with us had a successful opening in August after months of speculation about filming problems and controversy over the sometimes light-hearted promotion of the film, which focused on themes of domestic violence.

A clip in which Lively urges potential viewers to “grab your friends, bring your flowers and go see it,” for example, drew harsh criticism.

Karen Mason, co-founder and executive director of Supporting Survivors of Abuse and Brain Injury through Research, was among those who criticized Lively at the time.

She now says she now wonders if she was duped by a social media campaign against the actor.

“The news of her lawsuit made me stop and think and ask myself, ‘Was I the victim of a campaign that was specifically designed to make her look bad, to make her look like she was minimizing the impact of domestic violence?’ ‘ Mason said, speaking to CBC News.

“And Justin Baldoni was doing interviews and talking about survivors, which was strategically the right thing to do. But if it wasn’t coming from a place of authenticity, then a lot of us were drawn into that narrative that wasn’t real. And that’s disturbing.”

Hollywood stars Lively again

Many people have drawn parallels between Lively and Amber Heard — especially since Johnny Depp, Heard’s ex-husband, also hired Nathan for crisis management during his defamation trial against Heard.

Heard, who was ordered to pay millions in what some believed was unduly influenced by Depp’s social media campaign against her, spoke out in apparent support of Lively in a statement to NBC News on Monday.

“Social media is the absolute personification of the classic saying, ‘A lie travels halfway around the world before the truth gets its boots on,'” she said. “I’ve seen this firsthand and up close. It’s as scary as it is destructive.”

America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel, actors who starred alongside Lively in the 2005 film. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pantsalso spoke out in support of Lively, posting a joint statement on Instagram on Sunday.

“During the entire shooting of the film It ends with uswe saw how (Lively) mustered the courage to demand a safe workplace for herself and her colleagues on the set, and we are horrified to read the evidence of the deliberate and vindictive attempt that followed to discredit her voice,” they wrote.

Colleen Hoover, author of the 2016 bestseller on which the film is based, posted a photo of herself with Lively, whom she described as “honest, kind, supportive and patient,” and shared a post by Ferrera, Tamblin and Bledel.

Lively It ends with us colleagues, Brandon Sklenar and Jenny Slate, also supported her.

IN statement to Today.comsaid Slate: “What’s been revealed about Blake’s attack is terribly dark, disturbing, and downright menacing. I commend my friend, admire her courage, and stand with her.”
