Carla: Strand Larsen starts in place of Matata at Palace
Jamie Carragher, Sky Sports:
“I think Strand Larsson is a good player and that’s why there is so much interest in him. People are not buying him based on his performance this season.
“He plays for a really bad team. And he hasn’t played a lot of games recently and has been on the bench a lot. I think the club wants to keep him going and bring some money.”
“I watched him last season and he didn’t really look like a top striker but certainly one you wouldn’t associate with a bottom striker.
“He can definitely play for a team in the middle of the league. The highlight last season was the goals – non-penalty goals. To score 14 goals without penalties – that takes some work.”
“If Strand Larsson comes on, I think Mateta will be on the bench. I don’t think Palace are the type of team to have two strikers.
“They love those two No. 10s and it’s a big part of their system. It will be interesting to see those two do that.
“They’ll be in the minority. Mateta is in the minority but his defense is absolutely fantastic and he does miss a lot of big chances.”
