Jimmy Carter’s legacy…in his own words


Former US President and Nobel Peace Prize winner Jimmy Carter passed away at the age of 100.

Every living president who has been honored for his philanthropic work at the Carter Center has now issued a statement about his career.

In a series of interviews with the BBC throughout his life, Carter reflected on how he envisioned his legacy, telling the BBC’s Andrew Marr in 2011 that it was defined by “a commitment to peace.”
