Jets legend Nick Mangold announces he needs kidney transplant

new york jets Legendary Nick Mangold announced on social media that he needs a kidney transplant.

The former center said he was diagnosed with “a genetic defect that causes chronic kidney disease” in 2006, the same year he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. Drafting No. 29 Jets overall.

“I always knew this day would come, but I thought I would have more time. Unfortunately, I don’t have any family members who can donate right now, so that’s why I’m reaching out to you, our New York Jets and Ohio State communities. I need a kidney donor with type O blood,” the 41-year-old wrote.
