With Jasprit Bumrah’s ill health, Rishabh Pant’s name is also being considered for the Test captaincy
In matters related to his fitness, RevSportz has reported that there will be discussions on not awarding Jasprit Bumrah the Test captaincy due to his workload. We will take into consideration whether the fast bowler will be able to play in all the matches if he is given the lead.
The report added that Rishabh Pant’s name was also being considered for the Test captaincy due to his outstanding performances in the game. Immediately, there will not be any calls related to this and discussions surrounding the matter will revolve around the England series.
As far as Bumrah is concerned, it is learned that the fast bowler will be rested during the three-match ODI series against England. This is because the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants the fast bowler to feature in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
