The battle itself plods on beneath the comedy. Miller leaned, pushed, worked. Ibe had moments that were enough to make the cards awkward, which is what happens when a so-called name can’t separate itself, split decisions. It’s twelve rounds of survival boxing, complete with laughs.
Miller won the game with size and grit. Ibe touches him often enough to make you wonder how generous one of these cards needs to be.
This is Miller’s first fight since a draw with Andy Ruiz in August 2024. That night raised questions about speed and leg strength. This one adds freshness. If you’re scrambling against Kingsley Ibeh on a big card, the department isn’t worried about you.
The wig steals oxygen because the boxing underneath never needs it. When the loudest moment of a heavyweight bout is a wig bouncing off the canvas, reviews write themselves.
Miller leans toward it because what else
Afterward, Miller didn’t pretend it was anything else. In an interview with DAZN, he explained the chaos with serious absurdity.
“I went back to my mom’s house and I saw some shampoo bottles on the table,” Miller said. “I was washing my hair and it was like ammonium bleach. Like two days ago, I literally lost my hair.”
He continued, “So I called my manager and said, ‘Buy me a mane like this,’ and I quickly had it on.”
He shrugged, leaning forward, as befitted the night. “It’s funny, man. I’m a comedian and you have to make fun of yourself. Sometimes you can’t take life too seriously and you have to just roll with the punches.”
“Then I got to New York and I was washing my hair and all my hair fell out. It was ammonia and bleach in a bottle and I thought ‘fuck it, if it falls off in the fight I’m going to make fun of it’ and sure enough it fell off in the fight.”
On iFLTV, he pointed out a rough process. “There have been so many trials and tribulations to get to this moment,” he said, citing approvals, lost battles and personal losses.
The video went viral and the joke landed harder than the right hand.
