Tottenham Hotspur suffered a heavy defeat at the weekend against Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Angie Postkoglu’s side lost again to Arne Slott’s Liverpool, who pulled off a memorable win inspired by Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool won 6-3 as Salah scored twice and added an assist in one of his best performances of the season.
The Egyptian striker has already scored 15 goals and provided 11 assists in the league this season in just 16 games.
It was another game that showed how much work Tottenham’s defense still needs to do if they are to achieve their goals this season.
The recent game against Chelsea was another example of the north London side suffering under pressure from their opponents.
Jamie Carragher was particularly critical of Tottenham defender Jed Spence’s performance against Liverpool.
Spence chased down Trent Alexander-Arnold in the Liverpool half, leaving the Tottenham defense open and allowing Salah to find Dominic Szoboszlai, who had scored against Spurs Score easily.
The expert said players should realize that pressing too high at that moment is not the best option.
Tottenham looking for cheap midfielder
Carragher said, according to Sky Sports TBR football:
“Look at your left back trying to press, you don’t! You stay at left back, Archie Gray is dragged through, Dragusin is in no man’s land and before you know it, the game has become three That’s right. It doesn’t mean not attacking like the coach said, but it means using your brain.”
“Don’t forget it’s the manager’s side. For me, the decision at left-back, you could say he’s just made the decision but if your manager has been there for 18 months then that information has to be there every day All are being passed on.

“He’s never going to get there, he’s gone about 40 yards, he’s leaving an 18-year-old behind and you have to look after a kid – he’s not even a centre-back and he’s only 18. If you do half The last minute was absolutely unbelievable.”
Anj Postkoglu needs to change his tactics at Tottenham Hotspur
The manager likes to play attacking football and it’s refreshing to see Tottenham play like that, but the players have to choose their own moments.
You can’t play extreme attacking football all the time. It also depends on the players you have available at the time.
The north London club are currently without Christian Romero and Mickey van de Veen, leaving their defense wide open of late.
In the absence of both players, more protection should be given defensively and the offense of the game should be weakened to a certain extent in order to have an effect.
It is because of this style of play that Tottenham have struggled to achieve consistent results throughout the season, and that can only be determined by the head coach.
