Jake Paul was left with a “crooked” nose during a boxing match with heavyweight boxer Frank Sanchez, who praised the YouTube star’s “courage”.
Paul has been preparing for the toughest fight of his boxing career against British two-time world champion Anthony Joshua in the early hours of Saturday morning in Miami.
The 28-year-old only has 13 fights on his record, but Paul has been boxing against top heavyweights including Cuban Sanchez.
Paul recently revealed damage to his nose ESPN: “It’s even more crooked.
“I’m not going to lie, my nose moved a few millimeters in this training camp against heavyweights. A guy named Frank Sanchez, he did crack it a little bit, so there’s definitely a little bit of something in there.
“But yeah, man, it sucks!”
Sanchez, who will challenge for the world title if he wins the IBF final knockout, expressed his respect for Paul.
“I spent three weeks with Jack,” Sanchez told Sky Sports. “What’s most surprising to me is that Jack is a professional, hard-working guy and his boxing skills have really improved since he started boxing.
“I’m personally looking forward to his fight with Joshua. Jack showed a lot of courage in this tough fight.
“I think boxing fans will admire him for not being afraid to fight one of the best heavyweights in the world.
“I love Jake Paul and wish him the best.”
