Jake Paul may target Tommy Fury’s next rematch in the UK as he recovers from a broken jaw suffered during his fight with Anthony Joshua. boxing news

Jake Paul is set to resume his boxing career later this year after undergoing surgery on a broken jaw and could be planning a rematch with Tommy Fury in the UK.

Paul is next set to hold boxing talks in the UK and a rematch with Tommy Fury will also feature in those discussions.

After losing to Anthony Joshua in the heavyweight division, Paul, a natural lightweight, may be looking to avenge a loss to Tyson Fury’s brother Tommy Fury, who beat him on points in 2023.

Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions with Paul tells us sky sports: “He wants to prove to the world that he can beat Tommy Fury.

“Jack had one loss before Joshua and that was Tommy Fury and I hope that fight happens because I think it’s a good barometer of Jack’s progress.

“I don’t think he (Fury) has improved as much as Jake in the last three years. Because he’s not as focused on boxing.

“I hope this fight happens.”

Paul fought former unified heavyweight champion Joshua for six rounds, but suffered a broken jaw in that stoppage loss.

However, he should return to the sport later this year and may consider boxing in the UK.

“He wants to come back. He asked me to start negotiating some games,” Bidarian revealed. “I think anytime from August to November you can expect Jake Paul to be back in the ring. I would love for him to come to the UK and fight. That’s what I’d like to see.

“It does become part of the conversation. I hope Jake Paul comes to England and plays a game.”

Paul is an unconventional professional boxer. The YouTube star has fought UFC champion Mike Tyson, 58, but his fight with Joshua was a surprise.

Bidallian believes a Joshua fight could reshape Paul as a boxer rather than destroy him as some predict.

Sky Sports’ Johnny Nelson weighs in on Joshua’s win over Paul and says Paul’s KO defeat was a ‘reality check’

“I thought he did a great job against Joshua, having four weeks of preparation for a figure like that,” Bidarian said.

“I think he realizes he still has a lot of work to do. Even just simple cardio. His cardio, if he could keep it up, he could probably last eight rounds, but he ran out of gas and Joshua caught him. Weirdly enough, I think losing to Joshua is going to help Jake Paul in the long run.”

A rematch with Tommy Fury could be another blockbuster event for him.

“The amount of internet attention in the UK for the Jake Paul-Tommy Fury fight is greater than any Tyson Fury fight in the last five years, and more than any Jake Paul fight other than Mike Tyson in the last five years, including the Jake Paul-Anthony Joshua fight. That was a fight in Saudi Arabia,” Bidarian said.

“So if I could do this fight in the UK or somewhere in Europe, I think people would go crazy for it – the young, internet generation.

“It’s difficult to come to someone’s country and do that, so we’ll see how the discussion goes, but I’d love to have a fight with Jack in the UK. I think it would be a big statement.”
