Italy released an Iranian man held on a US warrant a few days after the release of a journalist held in Tehran




Italy’s justice minister asked an appeals court on Sunday to overturn the arrest of an Iranian national wanted by the US over a 2024 drone strike in Jordan that killed three Americans. Mohammad Abedini’s release comes days after Iran freed Italian journalist Cecilia Sala from a Tehran prison following intense diplomatic efforts by Rome.
