Israel returns last remnants of hostages in Gaza, ceasefire moves to next phase

Israel recovered the remains of police officer Ran Gvili, the last hostage in the October 7 attack by Hamas, marking the end of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire and allowing the truce to progress. The next phase is expected to reopen the Rafah border crossing, increase aid and travel, and begin the more difficult tasks of disarming Hamas, withdrawing Israeli forces and rebuilding Gaza. FRANCE 24’s Noga Tarnopolsky has the details, noting that ‘this is a turning point for Israel’.
