Jorge Masvidal vs. Sarah Magomedov? It’s rare to see a matchup like this on a bingo card.
Masvidal has been out of MMA competition since 2023, last appearing in action in a 2024 boxing decision loss to Nate Diaz. Still, “Gamebred” has been preparing for a comeback for quite some time, and now he’s delivered on that promise, albeit in a way that few expected.
Masvidal is a former BMF Champion and a two-time UFC welterweight challenger. The 41-year-old has wins over the likes of Darren Till and Donald Cerrone.
Aside from a decision loss to Michael Page, Magomedov remains undefeated in his MMA career. The 31-year-old’s most recent appearance came in his victory over Marc-Andre Barriault last summer.

Is Jorge Masvidal fighting Sarah Magomedov?
Jorge Masvidal She will face Shara Magomedov in a submission-only match at the upcoming Hype Fighting Championship on March 11 at Famasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Masvidal vs. Magomedov will be the highlight of this event. The two will fight for 10 minutes.
Hype FC has been the target of at least one police raid in Moscow on charges ranging from drug trafficking to fighting, Sherdog reports. Sherdog Fight Finder has flagged the promotion for illegal matches.
The matchup seemed unconventional, to say the least. Neither Masvidal nor “Sarah Bullet” are known for their submission skills. Primarily a striker, the pair are known for their exciting takedowns and displays of skill with their feet.
“Gamebred” has only won two submissions in his 52-fight MMA career, with his last submission victory coming against Michael Chiesa more than a decade ago in 2013. Magomedov, meanwhile, has never submitted anyone in his fighting career.
Nonetheless, Masvidal seems ready and eager to test his skills against “Sarah’s Bullet.” In a recent social media update, “Gamebred” hyped up the grudge match, saying:
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this is so fucking true. Me to the Pirates. Pirates, I respect you, but I’m here to chop your head off, my brother.”
