Bundee Aki and James Ryan have signed new contracts with Ireland.

Aki has agreed a new one-year contract that will keep him at Connacht until the end of the 2025-26 season, while Ryan has signed a three-year extension with Leinster.

Aki, 34, has been a key figure in Ireland’s midfield since making his debut in 2017 and has made 60 appearances for Ireland, winning two Grand Slams and a Six Nations title.

“I am delighted to have renewed my contract with the Irish Rugby Football Union and am delighted to be playing for Ireland and Connacht over the coming seasons,” Aki said.

“I love playing rugby in Ireland and believe it is the right environment for me to progress as a player.

“I’d like to thank the IRFU for their support and I’m excited about our green future in the coming years.”

Ryan, 28, has made 67 appearances for Ireland and captained his country.

“I am delighted to have signed a new contract with Leinster and commit my long-term future to the IRFU,” said Ryan.

“It’s a big motivation for me personally to play in an ambitious environment and I know everyone at Irish rugby is committed to working hard and achieving success.

“It’s a privilege to play for my hometown and my country and I’m excited about the future in blue and green, as well as developing talent through the academy system.”

The deal comes just a day after Tadhg Furlong and Andrew Porter signed contract extensions with Ireland and Leinster until 2027.
