Iran has sentenced Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi to six years in prison




An Iranian court sentenced Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi to six years in prison on charges of “gathering and colluding to commit crimes,” her lawyer said Sunday, adding that she was also banned from leaving the country and ordered into internal exile. The ruling, which can be appealed, comes despite serious health problems for the prominent human rights activist.
