As a Soon Parent, I’m worried about how online people get along with my child once they have a phone or tablet. The good news for parents who struggled with it today: Apple’s iOS 26 brings many parent controls to iPhone.
Parents can handle how much Time on screen their children, Managing Shop Store Shop Purchases and more. Some of the new controls can be found and overwhelmed with some apps, and your child needs to ask for access to communicate with unknown numbers.
Here are some of the safety of the people in Kid 26 carries the iPhones. My son was not here so I couldn’t try myself, but I’ll report later.
Note that many of these safety features are automatically enabled by iOS 26 until they are attached to a child’s phone number and Apple account.

Approve who can and cannot contact your child
You can block unknown numbers in messages, and iOS 26 allow parents to approve which numbers can text or call their child. If your child gets a message or call from an unknown number, they must send a request to their parents to allow them to receive the message or call.
So if your child’s friend wants to call them, you approve their number. But if your 12-year-old identity is different, adult sound messages, you can stop the sender.
This feature applies to third party appo, which parents can allow approval which chats are, following Apple’s apps like apps to use Apple’s framework.
Blur nudity with some apps
Another feature of Safety Child Safety 26 includes this is to soften Natiity with naked facetime calls and any shared albums with your child’s iPhone photos.
This is similar to a part identified by iOS 17 called Sensitive content warnings. With that side, you can pick up the hauling of the nude in the room that apps sent you like messages. The new feature is automatically made for your child’s account.
Changes to app store
Part of IOS 26 safety changes include updated age ratings for Apple’s apps, an app containing an arbitrary or contraction of advertising or controlling content.
The App Store also doesn’t show your kid apps with ratings on top of their content restriction in the App Store store, as well as the editorial tabs. And if an app is above the inside of your child’s content, you can be an exception for that app by Ask buying part.
Age-Apperan In-App Experiences
If you can approve your child to download a third party store on their device, you can also choose to share their age (q 13-17) with the developer app. That way your child can view the content and appropriate parts of the age within the app that does not need to reveal their exact date of birth or to enter the age date.
