Robert Lewandowski will not be with Lionel Messi Next season at Inter Miami, though the veteran Pole may yet end his career in Major League Soccer.

Lewandowski is 37 years old and under contract Barcelona Expires at the end of the season. As it stands, there is no indication that the Catalan will consider extending his deal, making him an attractive free agent transfer target for clubs in the US and Saudi Arabia.

Miami have been mentioned as potential suitors but, as reported by Sport this morning, they have no intention of making a move for the former Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich striker.

Miami are confident they already have a player with a similar profile to Lewandowski in another former Barca star, Luis Suarez, even though the veteran has been a peripheral figure in the Uruguayan’s final stages. Miami’s first MLS Cup win.

Suarez is reportedly close to signing a new contract with Miami but on reduced terms to reflect his diminished influence on the team.

Chicago eye Lewandowski deal

Lewandowski could still move to MLS, however, with the Chicago Fire also interested.

According to Sport Report, The Fire have already held talks with the player’s representatives with a view to bringing the league back to July after it was paused for the World Cup.

Lewandowski is still part of Barca’s best XI, although he has competition for the number nine role from Ferran Torres, who has enjoyed an outstanding season.

He joined Barca from Bayern in the summer of 2022 and has scored 109 goals in 164 games.

Lewandowski has struggled with injuries this term but has still contributed eight goals and one assist in 17 appearances for the Liga leaders.

Miami has already solidified their team for next season The acquisition of former Manchester United and Spurs full-back Sergio Regulone.

He will be the direct successor of Jordi Alba, who has announced his retirement along with former Barcelona star Sergio Busquets.
