The year 2025 is big for animation fans, in part thanks to major anime films like Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. The first of the three-part ender of the popular shonen anime records were broken and delighted fans when it came out, and now Sony is looking to capitalize on that success by changing its theatrical run.

Starting February 20, it will be playing in select theaters in Japan Infinity in Ultra 4DX and the three-screen ScreenX formats. The latter is used for the likes of Mission: Impossible and Bad: For good, and its inclusion here is for Demon Slayer a big one. Not only that Infinity the first of the franchise’s movies to get the ScreenX treatment, but it’s also the first anime episode to get this type of conversion.

At the time of writing, it is only available in Japan and the Philippines, along with online chat suggesting that other territories may follow suit at a later date. According to Polygon, there are also rumors of Infinity return to IMAX for theaters that cannot offer 4DX or ScreenX screenings. If so, it could also be a first Demon Slayer movie to get a re-release: the famous Mugen train movie and compilation movies for the “Swordsmith” and Hashira Training” arcs each hit theaters at the same time.

For those who are waiting for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle to hit streaming, you’ll have to wait a while. But hopefully you’ll get a chance to see it on the big screen.
