The record-breaking moment came when the India skipper unleashed his signature 360-degree stroke play as he scored 63 runs in just 30 deliveries. Suryakumar’s landmark hit off Lockie Ferguson in the 13th over was part of a devastating 137-run partnership with Ishan Kishan that devastated the New Zealand bowling attack. His innings featured four boundaries and six towering sixes, keeping his career strike rate above 165, which remains the highest of any batsman in the 3,000-run club.
This record is a sharp warning to opponents just seven days into the 2026 T20 World Cup. Yadav’s return to top form is a huge boost for the defending champion after a brief slump earlier this year. As India prepares to host this mega event, their captain will enter the game as the shortest, most efficient and most dangerous weapon in the game.
