Two snowmobilers killed in separate accidents western wyoming in late January, officials said.

Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) responded to a fatal incident on January 26 when a man and woman riding in a small group of tour guides went off course in the Togwotee Pass area and collided with a tree.

The man later suffered cardiac arrest and died from his injuries.

The woman, who was reportedly unresponsive but breathing, was rescued by helicopter and taken to hospital. idaho hospitals.

“All of us at TCSAR extend our deepest sympathies to the families and friends affected by this tragedy,” the organization wrote on Facebook. “It has been a challenging winter so far for our mountain communities. TCSAR has responded to four deaths, two of which occurred in the past three days.”

“We know accidents happen and we all make mistakes. This message is not meant to shame or judge anyone. Three days earlier, on Jan. 23, TCSAR responded to two other snowmobile accidents along Granite Creek Road, one of which later proved fatal.

In one incident, a 39-year-old man suffered serious leg injury after falling and rolling down an embankment about 30 feet.

TCSAR then received a second call to snowmobile guides regarding a 32-year-old woman who lost consciousness and suffered life-threatening injuries after hitting a tree.

Pike died of head and neck trauma, from Stamford, ConnecticutTeton County Coroner Brent Blue told the media.

The coroner’s office has not yet determined Escamilla’s cause of death or his hometown, but has contacted his family in Florida.
