A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent is hospitalized after he was ambushed while trying to arrest a Venezuelan national in Minneapolis late Wednesday, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
The agent was ambushed by two people while trying to conduct a traffic stop on an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, the Department of Homeland Security said, adding that the agent opened fire during the alleged attack because he “feared for his life and safety.”
